Jase: What does “deep lung support” mean here?
Kimmi: It is a herbal syrup for children aged one year and over. The panel lists ivy, baical skullcap, pelargonium, licorice and adhatoda.
Jase: Can shortness of breath be managed with this alone?
Kimmi: No. Breathing difficulty or wheezing in a child needs prompt medical assessment. Seek urgent help for fast or laboured breathing, ribs pulling in, blue lips, confusion or unusual sleepiness.
Not suitable for babies under one year. Licorice may affect blood pressure, potassium and medicines. Use adult supervision, measure the dose accurately, and do not combine children’s products without checking for overlapping ingredients.
Directions
Recommended Dosage: Take the recommended dose by age group 3 times per day or if acutely unwell, take the recommended dose two to three hourly up to 6 times per day. If no improvement in 3-4 days, seek professional medical advice.

Children 1-2 years: 1 to 2 ml (1⁄4 metric teaspoon)

Children 2-5 years: 2 to 3 ml (1⁄2 metric teaspoon)

Children 5 years and over: 5 ml (1 metric teaspoon)
Syrup may be warmed a little to enable easier pouring or drawing dose into the syringe.
Cautions: NOT SUITABLE FOR BABIES FROM 0-1 YEAR. If no improvement in 3-4 days, seek professional medical advice. Check for known allergies to ingredients. Always read the label and use as directed.

Base Ingredients
In a syrup base of chicory root fibre, vegetable glycerine, natural flavours, citric acid, and water.
Each 5 ml dose contains approximately 0.066gm of sugar per dose.
