Jase: A herbal liquid with peppermint, menthol, eucalyptus, pine, licorice and other listed ingredients.

Kimmi: Can it replace getting a bad cough checked?

Jase: No. Seek urgent help for severe breathing trouble, blue lips, chest pain, confusion or coughing blood. Persistent or worsening cough, wheeze, fever, or symptoms in a baby or young child need medical advice.

The supplied directions include a higher dose for “heavier people and chronic conditions” but do not define those groups. Do not use that higher dose without professional advice. Essential oils and menthol may be unsuitable for infants or young children. Licorice can affect blood pressure, potassium and medicines.

Directions

Suggested Use: Can be taken up to 6 x daily at 5ml per dose. Heavier people and chronic conditions can take up to 10-15ml, 6 x daily. Best taken straight or in 50mls of boiled water as a tea.

Important: Do not use the higher dose, or give this product to a baby or child, without advice from a qualified health professional.

Dietary Advice: AVOID mucus-forming foods such as gluten, egg-white, chocolate, sugar, dairy, polyunsaturated oils, regular salt. ADOPT gluten-free grain foods, whole foods (greens, fruits, nuts, seeds), unprocessed coconut oil, 1022 Celtic & NZ Sea Salt with kelp, oxygen-rich water. Swill prior to swallowing.

Precautionary Advice: Contains Menthol, shake vigorously before use. Shake bottle vigorously prior to each dose. To accustom to product take a ¼ to ½ dose for the first 2 or 3 days. If taking prescribed medication, consult with your Doctor prior to using 'Malcolm Harker' herbal tonics. Avoid coffee or tea for ¼ hour before and after a dose.

Do not exceed the stated dose. Keep out of reach of children. Not to be taken or pregnancy or lactation.
