Kimmi: That is how it is labelled. It contains pelargonium, marshmallow, mullein and ivy leaf in a lemon-flavoured syrup base, with age-based directions below.
Jase: When is a cough more than a wait-and-see thing?
Kimmi: Seek urgent help for difficult or fast breathing, ribs pulling in, blue lips, unusual drowsiness, dehydration, a harsh barking cough with noisy breathing, or an unwell baby. Wheezing, persistent fever, a worsening cough or symptoms lasting several days need medical advice.
This is not an antibiotic and should not be described as fighting infection. Use adult supervision, measure doses accurately, and check with a child-health professional before giving a cough product to an infant.
Directions
Recommended Dosage: Take the recommended dose by age group 3 times per day or if acutely unwell, take the recommended dose two to three hourly up to 6 times per day.

Infants 0-1 year: 0.5 ml (10 drops)

Children 1-2 years: 1 to 2 ml (1⁄4 metric teaspoon)

Children 2-5 years: 2 to 3 ml (1⁄2 metric teaspoon)

Children 5 years and over: 5 ml (1 metric teaspoon)
Syrup may be warmed a little to enable easier pouring or drawing dose into the syringe.

Base Ingredients

Each 5 ml dose contains approximately 0.066gm of sugar per dose.
