Kimmi: What is in the adult Vira Guard?
Jase: Elderberry, echinacea, andrographis and olive leaf in a berry-flavoured base containing mānuka honey, for adults and young people over 12.
Kimmi: Does the name mean it prevents or treats viral illness?
Jase: No. It is not an antiviral medicine, antibiotic or vaccine. Seek medical advice for severe or worsening symptoms, breathing trouble, chest pain, dehydration, confusion, persistent fever or symptoms in a medically vulnerable person.
Andrographis can cause serious allergic reactions, while echinacea and the other herbs may not suit some immune conditions or medicines. Stop and seek urgent help for facial or throat swelling, breathing trouble, widespread hives or faintness. Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Directions
Recommended adult dosage (over 12 years): Shake well before use.
Get well acute: For immediate action when feeling unwell, take 5-10ml up to five times per day.
Stay well: To maintain a proactive defence against immune threats, take 5mls twice daily.
