Clinicians Hi-Dose Vit C 75g

Kimmi: How much vitamin C is in a teaspoon?

Jase: The panel lists 3,550mg total—700mg as ascorbic acid and 2,850mg from sodium ascorbate.

Kimmi: And quite a bit of sodium with it?

Jase: Yes, 372mg per teaspoon, so this isn't a powder to dose casually.

  • 3,550mg total vitamin C per teaspoon
  • Ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbate
  • 3mg vitamin B2 per teaspoon
  • 372mg sodium per teaspoon
  • Gluten and dairy free

Directions

Standard adult dose: Mix 1 level teaspoon with water or juice 1–2 times daily, following the current label.

Enhanced short-term adult dosage: Days 1–3: 1 level teaspoon in water or juice every 2–3 hours during waking hours. Days 4–7: 2 level teaspoons 2–3 times daily. After day 7, return to the standard dose. Enhanced dosing should be undertaken only with healthcare-professional supervision.

Cautions: High doses may cause abdominal discomfort, distension, diarrhoea and flatulence; reduce the dose if these occur and seek advice if symptoms persist. People with a sensitive digestive tract, ulcerative colitis or gastric ulcers may prefer to take it with food or use a lower dose. Because each teaspoon contains 372mg sodium, seek professional advice if restricting sodium or managing kidney, heart or blood-pressure conditions. Also seek advice if prone to kidney stones, affected by iron-overload disorders, pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medication. Enhanced dosing during pregnancy or breastfeeding requires professional supervision.
